Did a lovely 30 miler today, a reversal of my usual route out to Cholsey (Strava: http://app.strava.com/rides/14111750) No real ambition, just to start enjoying my riding again, which it certainly did. Going to try reclaiming or gaining strava segments tomorrow...
This is a good article from the excellent Cycletips blog about how to deal regain your KOM when you get that dreaded email saying 'You just lost your KOM . .' and also how to bag a few more too!
That looks like a good route, goes past the hill near me at the turning into Cholsey. I may have to try this route starting at a different point.
Thanks for sharing and if you see a guy on a red/white/blue bike, wave and say hello as you pass me!
Cheers Dave, it's a lovely ride that I usually do in reverse where I usually post a time around 10 minutes faster. I had 15.4mph at the halfway point and 16.9 at the finish-just to point out the effect the strong headwind on Sunday had!
Incidentally, I decided to set my own Strava segment for this ride, thinking I would for a short time have a KOM....when it came through I was only second fastest, despite that segment not existing! How the hell does that work? :~(
I guess someone else must have thought it's a good route to ride too!
