Just like you zip on a jacket, what about zipping on tyres!

I came across a few comments recently about zip on tyres and my immediate reaction was WTF!

But they are for real:  http://www.cyclist.co.uk/news/4858/zip-on-tyres-brilliant-or-bonkers ; and they are apparently out there being used although the Norwegian company who make them are still crowdfunding to expand the business.

So has anyone any experience?  i can see that in places where terrain changes frequently they may be useful but since I am predominantly on the road I can't really see any benefit but I might be missing something.

Thoughts appreciated?

I tried the solid ones as well ... dreadful! I think they were reviewed on here but my memory is not what it was... They have clearly spent heavily on marketing having seen all their videos. We’ll see...

Even though I once actually bought, for actual money, solid tyres I can't see much future for this mad idea.  But it's someone's dream and they've probably bet the house on its success so I'll wish them luck.
