Hours spent tracking down a ticking noise from bike resulted in success when the front QR was cleaned and greased. Strange remedy, but true

Indeed I am, although Julian and Sandy from Round the Horne really collapsed me into a giggling heap.  There has never been a funnier radio programme.

Certainly how I feel after a night at Madam JoJo's MtB! You're clearly a man of sophisticated tastes M, I don't suppose you could possibly be a fan of Derek and Clive?!?!

Your comment brought back memories Dave, of happy hours spent in the company of Sticky Vicky and her oilskin wearing friends at Hull docks. The poor girl was a martyr to the sore throat 'cause she was forever sucking a Fisherman's Friend.

Yeh, it seemed to be coming from the front wheel and it had me going for a bit.  I removed and cleaned the brake blocks, checked the tyre and rim and hooked all the crud from behind the mudguard.  Noise still there.  So out came the wheel and, being a thorough person, I cleaned some light surface gunge off the QR.  And lo and behold, when I popped the wheel back in the only sound was silence, as Paul Simon might have said.  You live and you learn.

Nice when you finally get to the bottom of a strange noise!
